Smiggy, awake from his nap and ready to be goofy. (Who would've thought that my children would have such beautiful brown eyes?! I thought blue was the dominant gene but I was wrong.)

Since Smiggs has been crawling for weeks, we've been trying to encourage Mason to follow suit. I put Mason on his hands and knees to get him started and he immediately locked his knees. He held this position for a surprisingly long time.

A close up of the 'hawk.

I put them both in Smiggy's crib for a bit while I tended to the endless laundry. They enjoyed it for quite a while...

How quickly things change!

Smiggs. So handsome.

Last week, we had a string of lovely warm days. We took advantage of the sun and took long walks each day.

"How big is Smiggy?" This big!

If he could talk, I think he would be saying, "Yes, my hair sticks up in a funny way...lad-dee-friggin-da!" Just a guess.

Mason playing with my mixing bowls. Where'd he go?

Boo!

For those of you wondering, I still exist...here is a picture to prove it...there aren't many.

Naomi, Rebecca, and I, and all our children, gathered at my house to bake Valentine's Day cookies. Rebecca and Jack rolling out dough.

Naomi and Lizabilly cutting hearts out of dough. L has ambitions of being a plumber when she grows up :).

Naomi and Lizaboo.

Yet another picture of M and his hair. Poor kid.

My future Mozarts. Mason always wanted to be playing Smith's keys, no matter what.

Case in point...

What Smithy would look like on weed. (May it never be so!)

Smithers can crawl!

Last Wednesday, Smith decided it was time to crawl. It was a very exciting moment and we all (Grammie Myers, Naomi and myself) clapped and cheered. Mason looked on with little concern or care, as if to say, "So what. I have two teeth already and can chew my food." Interesting how each boy develops on his own time line. Keeps me on my toes.

If you've visited Naomi's blog, you know that Naomi and I took all our little boys to Billings for a couple of days. We needed to break up our routine a little bit and so a road trip was in order. All the little buddies traveled marvelously, with little or no tears each way. Naomi and I enjoyed each other's company - getting to spend a saturated amount of time together that wasn't entirely divided by our children. My mom spoiled us with little goody bags in our bedroom, she watched all the babies while we hit the Billings shopping scene, she prepared many meals for us, and just generally gave us a break from running our busy households. Thanks Mom!

We also had a very nice visit with the Schuyler side of our family. Laurie and Dave watched the boys so we could go to the mall (for all the shopping we did, we didn't really buy anything...our husbands were so proud!) and then we enjoyed dinner with Janelle, Seth, Kayla, Laurie and Dave. There is no shortage of comedy and laughter at the Schuyler household - we loved it.

Smith is a notoriously messy eater. Yikes.

Oh my.

Went in to get Mason up from his nap and this is what I found. That's some hair, kid. I think it's safe to say that he gets his weird hair from Matt :).

This is Smitty's alter-ego, Edmund. Edmund is a whiner who parts his hair.

Two little buddies. These hats were knit by Kale's Oma, Becky. Thank you, Becky! Smith - left, Mason - right.
