Monkeys CAN paint!
This 25-minute paint session was quite possibly the only 25-minutes M and S weren't fighting/antagonizing one another all day. Lucky me!
Greetings! Today, we are stuck at home due to heavy snow-fall and below-zero temperatures. Wahoo! Good excuse to blog, I suppose. This 25-minute paint session was quite possibly the only 25-minutes M and S weren't fighting/antagonizing one another all day. Lucky me!
The weekend before Christmas, we found ourselves at Chico (local hot-springs/resort) in the company of a certain Grammie Laurie and Papa D. We booked a cozy 2 bedroom cabin and enjoyed the pool, the poolside grill for dinner, and the fancy-schmancy dining room for breakfast. We all enjoyed ourselves very much!
The grandparents had an early Christmas with the monkeys and spoiled them royally. (What are grandparents for, right?) We played many rousing games of "Memory". In fact, I think we've played at least one round of Memory every day since it was received. Mason is getting to be quite the opponent!
We celebrated Christmas Eve with the Bedfords. After a satisfying meal of bbq pork ribs, cheesy grits, and salad, the boys opened one gift each. My two opened the rifles that Grammie Monie and Papa Scott gifted (Sawyer was already in bed, of course). And Blake had the misfortune of opening a pair of pajamas...they were awesome Spider Man jammies but compared to the rifles...not so awesome. Next time, Addie and I agreed to discuss the type of gift to be opened :).
Soybean tasting the first spoils of the morning...a chocolate/marshmallow Santa.
We stayed in Bozeman, at our house, just the five of us, for Christmas!
While we certainly miss being with our extended family, it is oh-so-nice to wake up Christmas morning at our own cozy house. As you might imagine, our morning was not quiet or peaceful but loud, exciting, and lots of fun.

Again, the rifles are a BIG hit.
They insist on having the rifles in their room at night while they sleep so that they are available first thing the next morning. Did I mention they are cap guns? Smith prefers not to have "bullets" but Mason won't shoot without them. Normally, shooting guns is an outside activity...outside isn't an option right now so I'm asking the Good Lord for patience and inner peace during these looooooooooong winter months :).

After our Christmas nap, we headed to the duck pond on campus to feed the ducks. The many ducks were eager to greet us. However, due to the melt down in the car as we prepared to leave our house, this frazzled mama forgot to bring bread for the ducks. Those poor hungry ducks!
The boy of many words.
Hope your Christmas was lovely, your New Year is fantastic and that you are warm and cozy on this Winter day!

Sawyer looks at me like that all the time! It was fun to spend time with you guys, and Blake more than made up for the sad little jammies come Christmas morning. He wasn't even fazed by that point! :)
It's so nice to get to see Sawyer's little personality coming about. Thanks for letting us come visit you Christmas Eve. We love you all very much!
How come all of your boys say PAPA instead of Grammie. Monica and I have our work cut out for us, again. Grammie
LOVE the photo of the twins for your header! I do not have your mailing address... sent cards to your sisters and mama but could not send to you... do you mind sharing? email me at marcia@barneyperrine.com. Thanks!
What a fun Christmas! We stayed in Helena as well and I enjoyed it. Maybe Santa should have brought you some nice wine for Christmas? I think it might help with the cap guns :)
