Our littlest monkey turned one!
Sawyer E. has one whole year under his belt and he wears it well, of course. We celebrated with lots-o family, Mexican-Fiesta style, at Papa and Grammie Myers' house.
The birthday boy taking a swing at the sombrero pinata. He could hold the bat but had trouble swinging.

Blakester had no problem swinging the bat! Sawyer's brothers were quite timid about bashing the pinata and I think it was Aunt Addie who actually broke the sombrero open.
Amidst the spoils.

This was the best of the oh-so-many pictures I took trying to capture all three monkeys together. Although timid about breaking the candy out of the pinata, they were quite eager to enjoy the candy once it was out...go figure. :)
(You'll notice the large white bandage on Smith's index finger...he stuck it in a metal fan from a machine in my dad's shop. It. was. disgusting. Good thing Grammie Monie was around to nurse his bloody, chopped-up finger...I couldn't even look at it. No stitches were needed (or possible) and 3 weeks later it's looking pretty good.)
Although not walking, the One-year-old is quite mobile and grabby...but oh-so-cute.

Uncle Bing playing in the hot-tub with the boys. Smith couldn't get in due to his finger wound. Bing is the best at the cheesy-goofy picture face.

Matt's sister, Kayla, 'got married' the day before the birthday party. She married Jody Powell, a wonderful partner-in-crime, in a lovely ceremony followed by a fabulous reception. We had such a great time...and I have no pictures of the blessed event!

We've graduated from "the lion movie" (Madagascar) and are on to "Finding Nemo". It was about time, too, because I think we watched Madagascar a hundred times. At the very least. Here Mason is impersonating the "man with glasses" (the scuba diver who captures Nemo) from the movie.

Smiggle...looking an awful lot like Mason. I know this is a funny thing to say about twins...really, I get it, but 99% of the time they look so very different to me that I find it odd when I mistake one for the other.

Bike tune-up courtesy of M and S. No matter that they're using the tire pump on the seat.

Worker guy Smith.

Worker guy Mason.
Mason and his bundles watering Grammie's garden.
Aubyn and Hans were married!
I, of course, have only 3 pictures of the delightful event. Turns out it's difficult to wield a camera and wrangle 3 monkeys...who knew. Above, Grandma Claire, Joy, Meg, Lane, and Aubyn.
Grammie Linda, Addie, Smith and Sawyer.
(I found toddler neck-ties for M and S on etsy.) Thanks to many helping hands, I was able to enjoy the affair without having to chase children the whole time. My family and Matt's family are an essential component in maintaining my sanity, honestly.

Proof of my existence, with my dear friends and cousins, Joy and Hannah.
It truly was an "Awesome Wedding", from the whole table devoted to candy, to the hilarious photo booth with mustache props, right down to the homemade cloth napkins. The food was insanely delicious. The ceremony was short and sweet. The party-goers were fun and family. Hans and Aubyn know how to throw a fabulous party.

And now, it seems, summer is over...abruptly. It was a strange summer, weather-wise, but memorable and loved in all other ways. Fall will find us back in BSF and the boys are starting gymnastics, all of which will keep us just busy enough.

Claire, Joy, Meg, Lane, and Aubyn look like they are singing... it looks like a day where one might burst into song.

It has been SO WONDERFUL seeing you and your lovelies so much in such a short span of time. I think you are fantastic, Reese, and I cannot get enough of those boys. I can hardly believe it's been one year since driving to the tiny hospital to meet our newest tiny nephew. Love you all!

I can't believe he is uno! What a handsome boy he is. I can't wait to see him soon and kiss those cheeks. I also can't wait to see you and just drink tea (maybe some wine too) and catch up. I am looking forward to our time together!
